AMC description[]

Lewis Tan, a British and Chinese actor, was raised in Los Angeles and is the son of acclaimed fight coordinator and stuntman Philip Tan. Growing up on legendary film sets with directors such as Steven Spielberg and Tim Burton gave Tan an early love for the craft. He began training in drama school at a young age, while learning martial arts from his father.

Tan performed in many well-known plays under acting coach John Kirby while fighting competitively in different styles of martial arts. After completing school, Tan guest starred in many hit TV shows before going on to perform small parts in action films such as Pirates of the Caribbean 3, The Fast and the Furious 3, Mini’s First Time, Olympus Has Fallen, and more. His first leading role came when Forest Whitaker cast him in a small-town crime drama called Sacrifice — reviews on the young cast were outstanding.

Tan then went on to play a breakout role as the villainous Zhou Cheng in Marvel’s Iron Fist. His martial arts skills and character work brought him critical acclaim, and a viral social media campaign sealed him as a fan favorite and highlight of the show. The press from the show attracted the attention of many producers and showrunners, and Tan was approached by prominent producer Tucker Tooley to develop an action series around Tan. He can also be seen in Den of Thieves, the new crime thriller with Gerard Butler, and more A-list films to be announced soon.

Tan is known for performing his own action sequences. He has been an advocate and leader for the large Asian-American population and has regarded his art with extreme precision and engagement. There is much more to come for this ambitious rising star.[1]
